The Bolt
Waste-to-Energy Plant

A waste-to-energy plant is a waste management facility that combusts waste to produce electricity. This type of power plant is sometimes called a trash-to-energy, municipal waste incineration, energy recovery, or resource recovery plant. The facility will have different stages of managing the solid waste, extracting recyclable plastics, incinerating waste to turn into electricity to power 80,000-100,000 homes, extracting gasses, recover different metals, recover materials that will be used as high quality building materials like concrete, plaster, and asphalt. This will reduce waste and use it as a benefit in multiple ways, as well as save the waste from polluting the environment by being thrown into landfills around LA county.
